President & CEO


Dr. Melvin J. Rivers is a compassionate, purpose driven leader for “Positive Social Change”. He is a highly sought-after Speaker/Consultant in the subject areas of Business, Business Leadership, Labor Unions, Strategic Planning/Development, and Management. 

As a Business Consultant, Strategist, and Peer-Reviewed-Published-Author. Dr. Rivers conducts corporate workshops designed to address the current needs within any organization. He has the expertise, experience and research skills to effectively lead any organization into operational efficiency and profitability. 

Dr. Rivers is a “Seasoned Leader” and Project Manager. He is a Member of The Board of Directors for The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Access Corporation, overseeing the operation of the Access Channel 21 Television Station in Charlotte, NC. He has served as the Chairman of Religious Affairs for the NAACP of Monroe County, NC., and on the Board of Directors for Operation Reach Out in Monroe, NC. Dr. Rivers has also served as an Associate Professor and Dissertation Chair at the University of Phoenix School of Advanced Studies and the University of Phoenix-Charlotte School of Business. 

He is the President and CEO of Phronesis Consulting Firm, LLC -- A Business Consulting Firm specializing in Leadership & Project Management. Dr. Rivers is a Business Start-up Specialist. He is a member of the Association of Management Consultants, The Association of Strategic Planning and former Chairman of Volunteerism and Community Affairs of the Los Angeles Chapter of The National Black MBA Association. 

Dr. Rivers has advanced decision-making and leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of both theory and applied research, and the ability to apply these skills. He formulates and executes effective solutions to the complex, real-world issues of organizations and to those issues common in the practice of business and management.

He holds a Doctor of Business Administration-Organizational Leadership from Walden University; Master of Business Administration-Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management; Bachelor of Science in Technical Management from DeVry University .
