(NDBASAC) Accreditation Council

The National D.B.A. Society Accreditation Council

(NDBASAC)

The Accreditation Process for The National D.B.A. Society Accreditation Council consists of the following steps:

Application: The business school submits an online application form. The application form includes information about the business school’s mission, vision, goals, curriculum, faculty, students, resources, and outcomes.

Eligibility Review: The National D.B.A. Society Accreditation Council reviews the application and verifies the eligibility of the business school for accreditation. The eligibility criteria include:

  • The business school must be legally authorized to operate and grant degrees in its jurisdiction.
  • The business school must offer at least one undergraduate or graduate business program that is consistent with its mission and goals.
  • The business school must have a sufficient number of qualified faculty members who are actively engaged in teaching, research, and service.
  • The business school must have adequate physical, financial, and technological resources to support its programs and operations.
  • The business school must have appropriate policies and procedures for academic quality assurance, student admission, retention, graduation, and placement.
  • The business school must have a clear and effective governance structure and leadership that fosters a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • The business school must demonstrate a commitment to ethical conduct, social responsibility, diversity, and inclusion in its programs and activities.

Self-Study Report: If the business school meets the eligibility criteria, it is invited to prepare and submit a self-study report within one year. The self-study report is a comprehensive document that provides detailed information and evidence on how the business school meets the accreditation standards of The National D.B.A. Society. The accreditation standards are based on four dimensions:

  • Program Quality: The business school must ensure that its programs are relevant, rigorous, and aligned with the needs and expectations of its stakeholders. The programs must also reflect the current trends and best practices in the field of business administration.
  • Faculty Quality: The business school must ensure that its faculty members are qualified, competent, and diverse. The faculty members must also demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, and service that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice in the field of business administration.
  • Student Quality: The business school must ensure that its students are prepared, motivated, and engaged. The students must also demonstrate academic achievement, professional development, and social responsibility that reflect the values and goals of the business school and The National D.B.A. Society.
  • Impact Quality: The business school must ensure that its programs and activities have a positive impact on its stakeholders and society at large. The impact must also be measured, evaluated, and communicated effectively to demonstrate the value and contribution of the business school and its graduates to the field of business administration.

Peer Review Visit: After submitting the self-study report, the business school hosts a peer review visit by a team of trained evaluators appointed by The National D.B.A. Society Accreditation Council. The peer review visit lasts for two to three days and involves interviews, observations, document reviews, and feedback sessions with various stakeholders of the business school. The purpose of the peer review visit is to validate the information and evidence provided in the self-study report and to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the business school in relation to the accreditation standards.

Accreditation Decision: Based on the self-study report and the peer review visit report, The National D.B.A. Society Accreditation Committee makes a final decision on whether to grant or deny accreditation to the business school. The possible decisions are:

  • Accreditation Granted: The business school meets or exceeds all the accreditation standards and is awarded accreditation for five years. The business school is required to submit annual reports to maintain its accreditation status and to undergo a re-accreditation process at the end of the five-year period.
  • Accreditation Deferred: The business school meets most but not all of the accreditation standards and is given a conditional accreditation for one year. The business school is required to address the identified areas of improvement within one year and to submit a progress report to demonstrate its compliance with the accreditation standards.
  • Accreditation Denied: The business school fails to meet one or more of the accreditation standards and is denied accreditation. The business school is ineligible to re-apply for accreditation for two years.
